Microblading

What is Microblading?

Eyebrow microblading is a great way to increase the thickness and shape of your eyebrows. It’s done using specialized microblading equipment that has incredibly small needles that deposit pigment. When done by our master aestheticians, these delicate lines fill in thin eyebrows with natural looking brow fullness.

How Long does it last?

Microblading lasts between 1 to 3 years depending on your skin type. If you’ve got oiler skin it will fade faster. It’s common to come back for touch-ups after a month or so to check in and ensure you’re happy with the results.

Microblading Helaing Process

The healing process after microblading usually takes between 25 to 30 days. It begins immediately after you’re appointment is finished. The exact amount of time it will take you to heal varies, as it depends on skin type, general health, and your age. It’s common for the first 2 weeks for your eyebrows to differ in appearance.

The texture, color, and definition will change a little nearly every day. The sensation will be a little painful, tight, and tender at first. Then it turns to some flaking and can be itchy, with will subside.
Best results require you to stay out of the sun, no sweat, no hot tubs, saunas, or beach for 7 to 12 days for healing. As well as no water on the brows for 3 days. Healing ointment is included and sent home with the client, as well as healing instructions.

Is microblading a tattoo?

Although it is technically a type of tattoo, microbladed eyebrows are very different than what you might receive if you went to a tattoo parlor. For one, microblading is only semi-permanent. A microblading service will also provide you with a much softer and more natural look than an ordinary brow tattoo.

This is because microblading is distinct from traditional tattoos in a few key ways. For one, it uses a different type of ink that is less concentrated. Microblading also is only done to the surface layers of your skin. This is unlike other types of tattoos, which will penetrate your skin so deeply that they will never fade away entirely. Also, the technique behind microblading requires an aesthetician to draw hair strokes by hand with a needle or blade. This results in finer, more subtle lines than can be produced by a tattoo gun.

Who is a good candidate for microblading?

Microblading creates an illusion of full brows by drawing fine lines directly onto your skin. This means that it can be done regardless of how thick or thin your existing brows are. However, microblading is not always a good fit for those with sensitive skin, acne, or other skin conditions. Not only can microblading make these symptoms worse, but it may also cause your new eyebrows to heal poorly. Pregnant or breastfeeding clients, as well as those on Accutane are also not eligible for microblading.

How long does microblading last?

The duration of your microblading will vary depending on the type of skin that you have. That being said, it generally lasts between 1-3 years and will likely be entirely faded by the 3-year mark. Those with particularly oily skin tend to need more frequent reapplications, but yearly touch-ups are a good option for anyone interested in keeping their brows looking full and fresh.

How much does microblading in Gainesville Fl cost?

The costs of microblading in Florida can vary depending on the type of appointment that you make. At Spa Royale, your first microblading session will cost $400. Any touch-up that you receive within a year of this service will cost $75, and touch-ups after the one-year mark are $130.

Can microblading ruin your eyebrows?

When properly performed, microblading should not harm your eyebrows, provided that you are a good candidate for the procedure. Since every aesthetician at Spa Royale is licensed and trained to provide the best possible experience, our microblading services pose very little risk.

However, people with certain skin conditions may be more prone to infection, which although rare, can cause lasting damage. If you’re concerned about your eligibility, it’s best to consult a doctor before making an appointment.

Does microblading require aftercare?

Like a traditional tattoo, it’s important that you take proper care of your microbladed eyebrows to ensure the best results. This will be most important immediately after the procedure. For the first 24 hours, you’ll want to put an antibacterial ointment on your brows every two hours. Then, twice a day for the next week, make sure that you secure them with a layer of a skin protector, like petroleum jelly.

It’s also important that your eyebrows don’t get wet for this first week, so you should plan to skip swimming, time in the sun, or any exercise that will cause your forehead to sweat. If this cannot be avoided, you should apply the antibacterial ointment to your eyebrows before swimming or jogging.
